SURESH GOPI

(born June 25, 1959) is a National Film Award-winning Malayalam film actor who is famous for his roles in police dramas, though lately he has been typecast with such cop roles. He is noted for his leading roles as much as his character roles. He is also famous for his philanthropic efforts.

My expectation were at high..Since I loved his narratives in Tiger and Cover story. But I am pretty much disappointed and annoyed to say that this movie is a real lackluster. Perhaps the movie also witnesses the failure of Unnikrishnan B as a scenarist too. The movie stands even below the 2002 movie 'Shivam' which I considered as his worst script till yesterday. The first 15 minutes was worth watching and promised something really fresh. But soon after the introduction of IG Durgaprasad IPS, the movie fell down each second, step by step. The film delivers nothing other than stereotyped characters, dialogues, melodrama, twists and turns. In short, another backfire for Suresh Gopi. It seems he is gonna lose his last hope of withstanding the industry by wearing a khakee and swashing the screen with his hubbubs.Now moving on to the plot: The film starts with an invader taking photographs of our secretariat and the very next day, a heavy explosion takes place at Trivandum Chaala market snatching away the lives of 14 ordinary people. It is then followed by a brutal murder of Home Secretary Paul Joseph IAS (Sreeraman) and that too, inside the secretariat territory at midnight. Rajan P Dev once again mocks the much screwed up and frustrated Kerala CM who appoints Traffic IG Durgaprasad IPS (Suresh Gopi) as the head of newly formed ATS. He is assisted by cops played by Jagathi Sreekumar, Vijayaraghavan and Kiran Raj. As usual Devan, Subair and Santhosh enacts the roles of Durgaprasad's superiors and subordinates. And above all, There is Ex-Minister from Malabar Mr Beerankutty played by Saikumar (uff...again and again..) and Skaria Zachariah (Ashish Vidyarthi), a business tycoon as well as a social worker, both being the connectors of terrorism with god's own country. A family track follows simultaneously with Lakshmi playing Suresh Gopi's mother, Adayalangal fame Govind Padmasurya as his brother and ChakDe girl Anaitha Nair as his lover. It Ironical that the IT engineer played by Govind is in love with Anaitha's character who belongs to be the daughter of Beerankutty, whom Mr IG suspects as a traitor. From this plot, the director once again brings all characters towards an old platform..the very platofrm which he used to narrate the grey side of the 'Smart Kochi'.
